Apple Activity Day

We had the best time during our apple activity day on Friday!!  We learned about apples all week and ended by making applesauce, making apple prints, graphing apples, and creating an apple snack!  It was so fun and so yummy!!!!

Thanks so much to Mrs. Marty, Mrs. Macdonald, Mrs. Morrone, Miss Martin, Miss Sarah, Miss Nancy, and Ellie for all of your help.  We couldn't have done it without you!!!

It took 4 videos to capture all of our fun and learning!!  Happy Viewing!!!

On Day 5, we go to ABC!!

We have ABC every day 5 in the gym.  Students should not go to the regular classroom in the morning, but meet Miss Bennett in the gym at 8:45am.  Here we will have lots of fun with our fifth grade helpers and Mr. V.

Mr. Michaels in Hershey

Did you know that Mr. Michaels has a boss????  Her name is Dr. Kelley.  We can't believe it!  Mr. Michaels sent us this picture to post on our blog of his trip to Hershey.  Mr. Michaels gave a speech about our school.  We heard he did a good job!!

On day 4, we have library.

Mrs. Litz helps us in the library every day 4.  We listen to a story.  We pick a book.  We read our book.  We know just what to do.  And remember.... the library is a very quiet place.

Our New Caterpillar Reading Buddy

Thanks to Miss Bennett's Mom and Dad... we have a new reading buddy for our library center!  Here we are putting it to good use!!

We are Writers in Kindergarten!

Look at some of our interactive writing pieces.  We are learning to be readers and writers!

100 Books

We are trying to read 100 books for the Scholastic Book Club's Classrooms Care Challege.  We picked team Eli Manning.  So far, we have read 21 books!  Wish us luck!  If we make it to 100 by December 17th, then Scholastic Book Club will donate 100 books to a school in need in our honor!!  Here is a picture of our chart:

Syllables!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!  Here is a picture from our class on Friday.  We were learning about syllables.  We used our names to clap out the syllables.  Now we know that syllables are parts of words!!  Most of the students in our class have two syllables in their name!!

Back to School

It was nice to be back at school today!  I hope everyone had a great 4 day weekend.  Today we started reading our next fairy tale: Goldilocks and the Three Bears!!!  Make sure to ask your child about Goldilock's Bad Decisions!  They know all about them!!

Some Reminders:
*ABC starts on Thursday.  Please make sure you drop your child off at the cafeteria doors.
*Scholastic Book Orders are due Friday.
*If your child is not feeling well in the morning.  Please keep them home and have them rest.
*Continue to save the keep books and mini books that come home with your student.  Create a storage box or safe place to keep them.  (Many, many will come home throughout the year.)  We will save them until our keep book picnic at the end of the school year!
*We go outside for recess everyday (as long as it isn't raining).  Please make sure your child has a coat and is dressed appropriately!!

Shaving Cream

Did you ever wonder why we have shaving cream on our classroom wishlist??  Well... we thought we would show you.  Miss Snook visited our class from Lock Haven University this past Thursday.  We showed her that we know how to write our numbers, letters, tally marks, shapes, names, etc.  The best part.... we showed her in shaving cream!!  It was so fun and it cleaned our tables too!!

Center Time

We love center time.  It is probably our favorite time of day.  We work together with a friend to do our work at our assigned center.  We like to help each other. Sometimes we are at the listening center and sometimes the art center.  Sometimes we are at the math center and sometimes the writing center.  There are many, many more different centers.  Here is a look at just a few!!

Math: Spinner Game

Hey Everyone!!  Look at us playing the Spinner Game in Math.
