February Frenzy!!

We are trying to win a popcorn party or an extra recess with Mrs. Kunkle and Mr. Michaels for our class!!  Can you help us???  We need to bring in as many box tops and soup labels as we possibly can this month.  And guess what else... Miss McQuown's 2nd grade class thinks that they will bring in more than us, but we think we can do it!!

No Bullying at Cochran School

We are a "Bully Free Zone" at Cochran School.  On Friday, some high school students came to Cochran to teach us about why it is so important not to be a bully.  They showed us what NOT to do.  They showed us what we SHOULD do!  It was very helpful watching their skits!  We hope they come back soon!  Here are some Rules for No Bullying in Room 31:

We will not bully.

We will say something.

We will be safe.

We will help people.

Below are some pictures of our friends Nyre and Teagan.  They got to go on stage and help the with the skits.  They did a great job saying 'No' to bullying!

Scrubby Bear

We loved the high school students who came to our room to teach us about how to stay germ free!!  They taught us how to wash our hands and what to do if we cough or sneeze.  Here are some pictures of us learning lots and having fun with them!!

Last Name Chart!

We are sooo smart in kindergarten!!  Here is a picture of our last name chart!!!  It helps us when we are at writing workshop!!

Martin Luther King, Jr.

We have been learning all about Martin Luther King, Jr.  in class.  You would be very impressed to hear everything we know!!  Make sure you ask us when we get home... we will tell you all about him!! 

Biographies

Two of our second grade friends from Mrs. Davis' class came to our room to interview Miss Bennett!!  They will be writing a biography about her during their writing workshop time!!  We can't wait to read them when they are finished!!

Soda Tabs

We are always collecting soda tabs in Room 31!!  Thank you to Ava and Carter for their latest donations!  As soon as we fill the green bucket, Miss Bennett will take them to the Ronald McDonald House in Danville!!!

We're Back!!!

We are back from a wonderful holiday break!!  The students are ready to work today.  It was very exciting to change our calendar to January and learn about 2010!!!  We were also very busy starting our last name chart and doing writing workshop!!

I am very proud of the nice note I got from Mrs. Rodgers about the class while I was away!!  I just wish I could have been here to see everyone in their pajamas!!
